As we head into the darkness and chill of winter here in the northern hemisphere…
The air is cold and the light grows dim. There’s that feeling of quiet. It’s not always literal but more of an internal experience. If we’re not careful sometimes we can slip into a bit of a depressive state. It’s not uncommon for that to happen given the light deprivation and stress or emotional aspects of the holiday season. I get it ❤️
So here’s a recipe for a simmer pot that you can make to help lighten the mood and make you and your home feel warmer and full of loving vibes 🤗
You’ll need:
-a large soup pot
-water
-apple cider
-1-2 cups frozen or fresh cranberries
-1 large orange slices
-1 pear sliced
-2 sprigs of rosemary
-1-2sprigs of pine
-2sprigs of thyme
-4-6 cinnamon sticks
-2tbs of whole allspice
-2tbs of whole cloves
-1tsp ground nutmeg
-1tsp vanilla extract
To do:
-fill pot 3/4 full with mix of water and apple cider
-add in all the other ingredients
-bring to a boil
-lower to a simmer and then simmer for 2-3 hours
-add water as needed so that there is always a good amount covering ingredients
**after you enjoy it for several hours, turn off and cool. Then you can cover and reuse the next day if you’d like~ just add more liquid so it’s covered as it simmers once again ❤️
